Description

AW Teaches Archive Course

This course is part of the AW Teaches Archive. It comes from an earlier phase of my work, but it was personally handpicked because it still holds strong value and includes concepts I continue to use today. While my process has been refined over time, the foundation shared here remains solid. This course is available as a standalone purchase through January 1, 2026. After that date, it will no longer be sold individually and will live exclusively inside the VP Box.

Join me as I walk through the creative side of my process and break down how I approach location choice and decision-making in this installment of Finding Inspiration in Ordinary Places.

Natural light takes center stage throughout this course. You’ll see examples captured during daylight as well as during blue hour, with a clear focus on how light and location work together to elevate ordinary spaces. I show how paying attention to light direction, timing, and environment can turn locations most people walk past into strong photographic opportunities. No flash will be used of any kind.

You’ll see the straight-out-of-camera images along with the full edit to the final result. There are no Photoshop tricks here. The emphasis is on seeing, choosing, and committing to a location based on light rather than relying on heavy post-production.

This course was created earlier, but the core principles are still very relevant, especially for photographers who primarily work with natural light. The way I source locations, evaluate light, and make creative decisions is the same foundation I continue to build on today.

If you’re looking for a more updated and expansive version of this approach, with extensive behind-the-scenes video, flash examples, and a complete breakdown from thought process to final edit, the Finding Inspiration in Ordinary Places series is where that work now lives. https://awteaches.com/finding-inspiration/
