Description
AW Teaches Archive Course
This course is part of the AW Teaches Archive. It comes from an earlier phase of my work, but it was personally handpicked because it still holds strong value and includes concepts I continue to use today. While my process has been refined over time, the foundation shared here remains solid. This course is available as a standalone purchase through January 1, 2026. After that date, it will no longer be sold individually and will live exclusively inside the VP Box.
This course was added to the Archive for a very specific reason. It’s older work, captured in 2018, during a period when I was still honing how I used a strobe. At the time, the out-of-camera image wasn’t where it needed to be, but I didn’t yet have the awareness to see that clearly. What drew people to the image when I shared it was the edit.
In hindsight, I now understand what the capture itself needed to look like to better support the final image. But when this course was recorded, I wasn’t there yet. And that’s exactly why it belongs in the Archive. I still love this image, and I know there are many photographers currently in the same place I was when I recorded this video.
Inside the course, you’ll see the full process and the final output. Even though the capture wasn’t ideal, the final image aligned with the body of work I was building at the time. You don’t need extensive Photoshop knowledge to follow along. If anything, this course helps you understand the core tools photographers rely on consistently and how they can be used to bring an image where it needs to go.
