Groups are capped at ten photographers so every participant has plenty of one-on-one time with the models and Audrey.
That access continues long after the workshop ends. Every photographer receives lifetime access to a detailed recap video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from every setup, complete lighting and decision breakdowns, a walkthrough of the RAW images, and Audrey’s full editing process from start to finish.
This allows photographers to remain fully present during the hands-on experience instead of worrying about taking notes, knowing they can revisit the entire day whenever they need to.

A full day of photographing, observing, problem-solving, and creating the images you envision.
We tackle light at different times of the day, giving you greater variety in the images you capture.
Several different lighting setups and locations are utilized throughout the workshop. The goal is to create elevated images that will fit seamlessly into your portfolio, rather than overstyled pictures that stick out like a sore thumb.
After a full day, you’re bound to be hungry, so lunch is included!

Workshop groups are kept small and intimate by design. Paparazzi-style shooting is absolutely prohibited.
Audrey demonstrates each setup and breaks down exactly how she approaches it. She will also show the group her straight-out-of-camera results.
Each photographer will always have dedicated time to capture their own images. If you want the lighting adjusted, the pose changed, or something approached differently, that decision is yours.
That is the beauty of a small group!

Light
Control natural light and off-camera flash
Learn to recognize and work with natural light, then balance it with off-camera flash to create images that appear completely natural, intentionally dramatic, or anywhere in between.
Control
Control what the camera sees
Use light, exposure, camera position, and subject placement to shape the final image instead of allowing difficult conditions to dictate it.
Vision
Find hidden pockets of light
Learn to recognize small pockets of directional, reflected, and ambient light that may appear insignificant at first but can become the foundation of a strong image. These are the scenes that give images the “3D look”.
Technique
Use technique with intention
Learn how aperture, camera position, subject placement, and focus work together so you can make deliberate choices for singles, groups, and movement.
Location
Make any location work
Learn to look beyond whether a location appears impressive to the naked eye and recognize the color, structure, angles, texture, and depth that can support a strong image. Use framing and camera position to transform ordinary spaces into photographs others would never envision from the location itself.
Finish
Revisit the entire process
Stay fully present during the workshop without worrying about taking notes. Your lifetime-access recap includes behind-the-scenes footage from every setup, a detailed breakdown of the lighting, conditions, and decisions made throughout the day, and Audrey’s complete RAW-to-final editing process.

Questions before you book
Workshop FAQ.
What does the workshop cost?
The total is $800 for the US based workshops. A $150 deposit secures your spot and the remaining $650 is due 30 days before the workshop. For International workshops, the total is $1250USD, and $350USD deposit reserves your seat. The remaining $900 is due 30 days before the workshop date.
What should I bring?
Bring your camera and at least two favorite lenses. At least one should be a prime lens. All lighting equipment will be supplied.
How long is the day?
The day generally runs from 10:30am to 5:30pm. Summer times may shift by an hour or two.
How large is the group?
The workshop caps at 10 participants and typically has seven or eight photographers.
Can I use the pictures taken at the workshop in my portfolio?
Absolutely!! We do not require participating photographers to supply models with images. That is Audrey’s job. However, if you decide to use any images in your portfolio, or shared on your socials, then those images must be given to the models at no charge.
Do I need to be an advanced photographer?
No. Audrey paces the small class so experienced photographers stay challenged and newer photographers are supported. Each workshop has professionals and a few newer photographers. The workshop is designed so that no one feels left behind, nor is the instruction remedial for those that are advanced.
Will I photograph the models myself?
Yes. Audrey demonstrates each setup, then every photographer works individually with the models throughout the entire day.
Are workshops refundable?
The workshop is non-refundable but may be moved to another date. You may also sell your seat. Selling your seat is the sole responsibility of the photographer. You may also chose to apply the price of the workshop to AW Teaches products. Audrey has never cancelled a workshop date, however in the very rare occasion that Audrey has to cancel a workshop, all participants will be fully refunded.
