There is flash in this photograph.

There is also natural light.

And that flare? It's real. It was created in-camera.

That's really what this tutorial is about. Not choosing between natural light and flash, but recognizing what the existing light is already giving you and knowing how to add created light without destroying what made you choose the location in the first place.

I take you behind the scenes of this image and pull the entire location back so you can see exactly what I saw. You'll see the available light, where my flash was positioned, where my subject was placed, and how all of those pieces worked together to create the final photograph.

I also show you the actual RAW file so you can see how much of the finished look was already there before I began editing.
