There are a lot of photographers who don’t necessarily need another class. You know your camera. You know how to photograph people. You know how to create a good image.
Sometimes you just need something different in front of your camera to get inspired again.
That’s what I want this Shootout to be.
I’m going to put together the kind of shooting experience I would want for myself. I’m choosing the locations. I’m choosing the models. I’m creating the setups. I’m bringing the lighting. Basically…I’m taking care of all the stuff that usually has to happen BEFORE you ever get to the fun part. 😂
You just need to show up with your camera and lenses ready to create.
And yes…I’m shooting too!
At each setup, I’m going to shoot first. You’ll be able to watch what catches my eye, where I put the model, how I use the location, where I place my light, and ultimately what I decide to create.
Then I’m getting out of your way. 😂
Move the model. Change the pose. Change your camera position. Shoot wide. Shoot tight. Change your settings. See something completely different than I saw.
That’s actually what I WANT.
I’m creating the environment, but I’m not looking for 10 photographers to leave with 10 versions of my photograph. I want you to take what I’ve put in front of you and create something that looks like YOU.
I’m keeping this to only 10 photographers because I want everyone to have time to actually shoot. Depending on the final group size, I’ll have approximately 2-4 models, and you’ll have real 1:1 shooting time with the models throughout our time together.
No standing behind a bunch of photographers hoping you can squeeze in a shot. You’ll have time to direct, pose, move around, try something, change your mind, and try something else.
I’ll provide the strobes, modifiers, and lighting equipment we’re using, so you don’t need to bring any lighting equipment with you.
And I’ll be right there shooting alongside you the entire time. This isn’t structured like my Light Exposed Workshop where I’m stopping to formally teach each setup, but PLEASE ask me whatever you want while we’re shooting. If you want to know why I’m doing something…ask me. If you want my opinion about something you’re doing…ask me.
The images you create are YOURS. Use them on your website, in your portfolio, on social media, in your marketing…wherever you need new work.
More than anything, I want you to leave with photographs you’re excited about and hopefully feeling inspired to go create something else.
