Description
The Proof Is in the Light is a full RAW-to-final breakdown of two images I shared that many people believed were not real in whole or in part.
These images created a lot of conversation because of how sharp the subjects were, how much separation existed in the background, and how clean the final images looked. But there was no complicated trick behind them, and there was very little post-processing done because it simply was not needed.
In this course, I open the actual RAW files from both images and walk through exactly what was captured in camera. I show the full EXIF data, zoom into 200% on the unedited RAW files so you can see and examine the sharpness before any editing was done, and then take you through the complete edit from SOOC RAW to the final image.
I also share a bit of BTS video, show a pullback of the location I was shooting in, and explain why I chose that particular area. The location, the light, the background, and the subject placement all mattered. This course lets you see how those pieces came together before the edit ever happened.
You will see what was already there in the RAW file, what was adjusted, and how much of the final image came from the original capture itself. I also show how I save the finished image for social media so the file holds up once it is uploaded online.
This is not a course about learning how to shoot sharp images. I already have a course for that, and that is called The Human Variable.
Although I show how this image was captured and midday sun tips are shared, this is not a course solely about learning how to photograph in midday sun with and without flash. I already have a course for that too. It is called Flash Forward.
This course is about opening the files, showing the light, showing the data, showing the BTS lighting set up, showing the full edit, and letting you see the full process behind the images people questioned.
Because in the end, the proof was already there.
