Soft OCF Light is an editing-focused course built around reshaping the feel of off-camera flash after the image has already been captured.
Soft light is usually associated with large modifiers. In this image, it wasn’t. I used a small beauty dish, which by default produces a more controlled, specular result. The softness you see in the final image is not coming from the modifier. It’s coming from deliberate post-production decisions.
This walkthrough breaks down how I take a harder, more contained light source and make it read as softer and more spread out without flattening the image or destroying contrast. The changes are subtle, intentional, and often overlooked. Small adjustments that, when combined, completely shift how the light feels on skin, clothing, and the environment.
This is not about masking mistakes or relying on heavy retouching. It’s about understanding how light information lives inside a file and how to guide the viewer’s eye by controlling transitions, density, and tonal falloff.
You don’t need advanced Photoshop skills to follow along. You do need patience and attention to detail.
