Description
This editing tutorial is a focused breakdown of a single image that has sparked a lot of conversation. But I show the ENTIRE series in its RAW format.
The gist of the shot is seven girls moving. Shot at f/1.6, and yes the shot was super sharp. This tutorial does not teach how to achieve focus, distance, timing, or camera settings. That work lives inside The Human Variable.
This course is strictly about the edit.
But I will break down the basic logistics of the shot.
You’ll start with the RAW file and follow my full editing process through to the final image. I walk through how I approach color, contrast, skin tones, and balance when working with a moving group photographed wide open, while keeping consistency across multiple faces without flattening depth or over-processing.
The goal of this edit is cohesion and refinement. Nothing is added to create sharpness. Nothing is masked to fake depth of field. The edit supports what was already handled correctly at capture.
If you’re confident in your ability to photograph motion and want to see exactly how I finish an image like this in post, this tutorial is definitely for you.
This is a standalone editing lesson and is also included inside the VP Box.
